SPF Couplings accomplish pipe restraint by engaging the complete circumference of pipe end grooves.  This mechanical locking together of the pipe ends enables the joint to achieve the rated pressure without blowing off or pulling out under vibration or sag.  SPF flexible couplings give pipe ends freedom to expand and contract with moderate temperature changes.  Normal longitudinal and settlement stresses are relieved automatically.
